In 2023, the NCE Secretariat was relocated to its own premises in Colombo 08

In 2022, NCE celebrated the 30th Annual Export Awards.

In 1986, establishment of NEA - as the only Trade Chamber in Sri Lanka, serving exclusively the Export sector.

In 1992, commenced publication of the ‘Sri Lanka Exporter’ magazine, the only trade magazine of export products and services of Sri Lanka.

Since 1992, uninterruptedly holding annual Export Awards to encourage and recognize achievements of Sri Lankan Exporters.

Since 2008, the Department of Commerce of Sri Lanka has authorized NCE to issue Certificate of Origin.

In 2009, established partnership with Indexpo Certification Ltd.

In 2009, established partnership with National Clearner Production Centre – Sri Lanka.
In 2011, appointment of private sector trade representatives to foreign countries.

In 2011, NCE Celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the establishment.

In 2013, commenced a program to link producers in the North with exporters in the South supported by International Labour Organization.

In 2014, commenced the Potential Exporter program to assist the producers of the SME Sector.

In 2014, establishment of the National Institute of Exports (NIOE), an independent entity conducting export related professional courses.

In 2016, NCE celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment.

In 2016, NCE obtained the Quality Management System Certification in compliance with ISO 9001 : 2015

In 2017, NCE celebrated 25th Annual Export Awards.

In 2018, NCE launched the 100th issue of the “Sri Lanka Exporter” magazine.

In 2019, NCE elected the 01st female President of the Chamber – Mrs Ramya Weerakoon.

In 2019, NCE launched Certificate of Ethical Trading (CET), becoming the 1st trade Chamber in Sri Lanka awarding certification for Ethical Trading Practices.
