NCE’s program to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and encourage them to engage in exports.

Program Objective

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are considered one of the main pillars of export growth in Sri Lanka. However, their potential is not yet fully used, as several impediments prevent them from contributing effectively to exports.

The main objective of the Aspiring Exporter Program is to support SMEs and encourage them to engage in exports, so that they contribute effectively to the country’s economy by promoting Sri Lankan exports in a sustainable manner.

After the one-year membership is completed and the SMEs have begun to export, they have the opportunity to join NCE as members and continue to enjoy membership benefits.

From Aspiring Exporter to NCE Member

  1. Join the Aspiring Exporter Program for a one-year membership.

  2. Make use of NCE’s services for aspiring exporters.

  3. Begin exporting.

  4. Once the one-year membership is completed and you have begun exporting, you have the opportunity to join NCE as a member.

Services Provided to Aspiring Exporters

NCE provides the following services to aspiring exporters.

  • Export Awareness

    Discussions that create awareness of the benefits of exporting.

  • Export Procedures and Regulations

    Training on export procedures and regulations.

  • Addressing SME Issues

    Help in addressing the issues faced by SMEs.

  • Buyer Connections

    Support in connecting products and services with buyers, with the help of Foreign Trade Representatives.

  • Marketing and Branding

    Assistance in marketing and branding products.

  • Promotion Overseas

    Assistance in promoting products with the support of Sri Lankan missions overseas.

  • Regional Training and Workshops

    Training and workshops for aspiring exporters in different regions of the country, with the assistance of other governmental and non-governmental organisations.

  • Overseas Trade Delegations

    Participation in trade delegations overseas, for businesses that are financially able.
