Certificate of Ethical Trading (CET)
Issued by NCE to Member Exporters who follow ethical trading practices, good governance and sound environmental and social practices.
Ethical Trading Certification for Member Exporters
In modern international trade, it is becoming very significant for exporters to conform to fair and ethical trading practices, protect the environment and adhere to sustainable development to maintain a competitive advantage in the market.
Understanding this significance, the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) issues the Certificate of Ethical Trading as a special service to its Member Exporters who follow ethical trading practices and good governance, and conform to sound environmental and social practices, based on 10 Principles of Good Governance developed by the Chamber. The principles are set out in the CET criteria below.
The Chamber will assist and guide Member Exporters in developing the systems and practices in their enterprises, based on the evaluations and audits carried out. NCE is the first and only trade chamber in Sri Lanka to issue a Certificate of Ethical Trading of Good Governance.
